Our Concrete Commitments to Sustainable Tourism

From the very beginning, we have taken a comprehensive approach to reducing our environmental impact while preserving the authentic charm of this former winemaker’s house and barn, built in 1930.

Insulation & Energy Efficiency

  • Completely renovated over a 3-year period with exceptional insulation (DPE B), which is rare for a building of this era. The result: natural coolness in the summer and comfort in the winter without excessive energy consumption.
  • High-performance appliances: Mitsubishi A++ air conditioner, Bosch B washing machine, A-rated oven, etc. (full details at the bottom of the page).
  • Compact Thermor water heater (Class B) to avoid unnecessarily heating 200 liters of water.

Water Management

  • Battery-free digital mini-water meter in the shower to raise customer awareness.
  • Watering the garden and filling the pool exclusively with water from the historic well.
  • Garden without a traditional lawn (grass carpet + drought-resistant kikuyu grass) → significant reduction in water consumption.
  • Faucet aerators and flow restrictors to reduce water consumption
  • Eco-certified shower gel and shampoo in refillable dispensers, as well as eco-certified hand wash.

Biodiversity & Gardening

  • Garden certified as an LPO (League for the Protection of Birds) Refuge.
  • No pesticides—100% natural fertilizers.
  • Areas of tall grass and holes in the walls have been preserved to encourage nesting.
  • Untreated fruit trees and aromatic plants (feel free to pick them, depending on the season).

Zero Waste & Responsible Consumption

  • Recycling bins with detailed labels and a compost bin for organic waste.
  • A 100% local and organic welcome basket: homemade jams from the orchard (untreated figs and apricots), regional products, and local organic wine and juice. The contents vary by season and are proportionate to the length of your stay.
  • Eco-labeled cleaning products.
  • All lighting is LED.
  • Use of motion sensors for outdoor lighting (to reduce light pollution).

Transparency & Limits

  • We are openly communicating that there are two 22-kW RÉVÉO public charging stations located just 500 meters in front of the multipurpose hall. Installing a private charging station would not be cost-effective with only one rental unit.

Why are we doing all this?

To ensure that your stay is comfortable, authentic, and environmentally friendly, we regularly monitor our energy consumption and continue to improve our practices. It is therefore only natural that we have begun the process of obtaining "Clé Verte" (Green Key) certification.
