Whether you’re looking for unspoiled wilderness, a family-friendly atmosphere, or endless dunes, the Hérault and Gard coastlines offer an incredible variety of landscapes less than 30 minutes from the Villa du Verger. Discover our selection of must-see spots for your sunny days.
The wild and unspoiled spot
Nestled between the sea, ponds, and pine forests, Aresquiers Beach instantly captivates lovers of unspoiled nature. Less developed than its neighbors, it is characterized by its sandy shore mixed with pebbles and its crystal-clear waters, offering the perfect setting for a peaceful day or a kitesurfing session.

A paradise of fine sand and dunes
Le Petit Travers and Le Grand Travers form a vast strip of fine sand bordered by a protected dune area. It’s the favorite beach of locals and families alike because of its gentle slope into the water. Le Petit Travers (associated with Carnon-Plage or Palavas-les-Flots) is particularly lively, while Le Grand Travers (associated with La Grande-Motte) offers a more rugged atmosphere and features areas reserved for dogs and kitesurfing. There are beach huts and private beaches. A beautiful bike path also runs along the entire length of the site.
Seaside Architecture and Comfort
The beaches of La Grande Motte (such as Le Couchant and Le Point Zéro) stretch along the famous “City of Pyramids.” Very well-maintained, they feature wide pedestrian promenades, beach volleyball courts, private beach huts, and numerous amenities. It’s the perfect way to combine swimming, seaside shopping, and lunch on a terrace.

The Camargue Desert as far as the eye can see
Designated a “Major Site in France”, Espiguette is a monumental beach unlike any other in Europe. With its white sand dunes reaching up to 12 meters high and kilometers of pristine shoreline, you instantly feel as if you’re at the end of the world. It’s a completely unspoiled area where the Espiguette lighthouse proudly watches over walkers and horseback riders. There are no private beaches here.
Tip from La Villa: Be sure to leave early in July and August to avoid traffic jams and easily find a parking spot—whether it’s paid or free!
